From the winter semester of 2024/25 onwards, particularly talented Master's students in Microbiology have had the opportunity to get funded position as research assistants from the university's Excellence Funds (ExStra funds). Mr Frank and Ms Sauke were successful in the first round and are now working on the projects 'Resolving the mode of action of the CRISPR-Cas type I systems inside cells' with Prof. Dr. Endesfelder, and 'Regulation and coordination of cell wall biosynthesis reactions in Streptococcus pneumoniae' with Dr. Anna Müller.
