The university research project Sweethoven Biotech was represented at the Ideenfutter Expo in Neuss on September 24, 2025 - one of the most important industry gatherings for food tech innovations and sustainable nutrition trends in North Rhine-Westphalia. As part of the BIO.NRW joint stand, Dr. André Neff and Dr. Marcel Hövels from the Institute for Microbiology and Biotechnology (IFMB) presented their biotechnologically produced, fiber-based sugar alternatives.
A special highlight were prototypes of cookies and jam developed by Aamir Lonne as part of his master's thesis using the sweet fiber produced at the IFMB.
By participating in the Ideenfutter Expo, Sweethoven Biotech was able to establish numerous contacts with companies, investors, and players in the food industry and present its vision of a sustainable, prebiotic sugar alternative to a broad specialist audience.
