The IFMB-based research project “Sweethoven Biotech” successfully participated in the NEXT BITE conference of EIT Food last week. The trade fair in the stunning conference center “La Nuvola” enabled a close exchange with major players in the European food industry. The team led by Dr. André Neff and Dr. Marcel Hövels acquired a €600 travel grant to attend NEXT BITE and present their sweet-tasting dietary fiber at a stand in the conference's Start-Up Village. Numerous food producers showed great interest in validating test quantities produced by the team as part of the “DATIpilot Innovation Sprint” funding measure in application studies.
