Since the winter semester 2024/25, highly talented students in the master's program in Microbiology have the opportunity to receive funding to work as science-oriented research assistants (WHF) alongside their studies, supported by the university’s excellence funds (ExStra funds).
In this year’s second selection round, Ms Fante and Ms Sudendorf were successful and are now working on the projects “Dissemination of clinically-relevant antimicrobial resistance genes through selected pathways across hospital and municipal wastewater networks” in Dr Michael Savin-Hoffmeyer’s research group and “Phage decolonisation of antimicrobial-resistant enteropathogenic bacteria” in Dr Thomas Fliesswasser’s research group.
Further information on this program and the students can be found on the M.Sc. Mikrobiology page.
